  • Men’s Indoor Lacrosse is ON for this Thursday, December 20th @ 6AM sharp! 
  • A representative from Harvard will meet with interested students on December 20 at 11:00 in the Guidance and School Counseling office.
  • The Jr. Class Refuse to Use Event that was cancelled last week will be held on Tuesday, Dec 18th at 3:00 in the Hunter Seminar Room.
  • The Holiday Ball will be on Friday, December 21 at the Manchester Eagles from 8-11PM.  Tickets will be $8.00 a person or $12.00 per couple.  This is a Semi-Formal Dance, appropriate dress is required.  Guests will need to register with Mr. Prevost.  Hope to see you there. Purchase your tickets during lunch this week.
  • Egyptian Nile Cruise April 2009 now taking applications please see Mrs. Spring to lock in your place and price!

·         Students in the graduating class of 2009!  Want to go to Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand all in one great trip?  South Pacific here we come!  See Patty Fast to sign up and for more details for this awesome trip!!

  • Attention to all students interested in acting in this year’s One Act Festival.Ben Scurria has been hired to direct our one act competition play this winter.  In and effort to provide acting opportunities to as many students as possible, we will also be offering additional one act productions to be performed in March.  There is a place for everyone!
  • If you are interested in directing, acting, stage managing or working back stage, come to a mandatory meeting on Tuesday 12/18 at 3:00pm in the Riley Center.
  • Anyone interested in buying a yearbook should send in your money asap!

Komen for the Cure will receive 10 cents for every lid collected (up to $1.5 million) to help find a cure for breast cancer!   Your help in finding a cure for breast cancer is greatly appreciated!

  • The Annual Junior Fruit Sale is under way.  We have a great selection for you: pineapples, mangoes, papayas, star fruits, clementines, grapefruits and oranges.  But hurry, you only have until Friday, December 14 to turn in your orders.  Ask a Junior class member for a purchase order or request a form from Brigitte Nicolet, Class Advisor.  Thank you.  
  • Attention Lacrosse Players:  No Men’s Indoor Lacrosse this Thursday, December 13th
  • Students interested in working with the Bart Ruggiere Adaptive Sports Center at Bromley Mountain this winter or as an assistant instructor to area elementary students in Bromley’s JISP program (Junior Instructional Ski Program) need to see Lani Lovisa in the service learning office ASAP.  Both the Bart Center and JISP programs are holding training sessions at Bromley on Saturday, December 15th @ 8:30 am.

Seniors wanting to receive an immediate decision on their application to Castleton can do so on December 12, right here at Burr and Burton. Students submit a completed application to their counselor by December 7 and then interview with a Castleton admission officer on the 12th. The application fee is waived for this program. Students should sign up with their guidance counselor as soon as possible to take advantage of this program.

  • The music department will present African music concerts on December 12th & 13th at 6:30 in the Riley Center.  Tickets are $2.00 each and can be purchased during lunch, at the box office prior to each show, or by visiting www.burrburton.org

  • Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is a dynamic, interactive educational program designed to prepare our country’s youth to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community. Sophomore students who attend the Vermont seminar May 22-24 interact with leaders in business, government, education, media and non-profits; they get a realistic look at our nation, its people, and their role within the world community. Stop by the Guidance for an application.   Applications are due back in Guidance by Friday, December 7th.

  • The Manchester Special Olympics is holding a Holiday Open House at the Riley Rink, December 4th, 6pm-8pm.  Anyone interested in joining Special Olympics, either as an athlete or a volunteer is welcomed to join our current athletes at our Holiday celebration.  Come meet our athletes, the President of Vermont Special Olympics and the Director of Events for Vermont Special Olympics.  The athletes will share their wonderful accomplishments, find out more information about volunteering and sign up your special athlete for basketball, skiing, golf, soccer or any number of sports that Special Olympics has to offer.  We will have a light buffet and beverages, make an ornament to bring home!  We look forward to seeing you, any questions please contact Meg Benasich.
