★College Representatives will visit with students at BBA on Wednesday, April 6: Montana State University at 12:30 and Marymount Manhattan at 1:00.

★The registration deadline for the May 7 SAT at BBA is April 8.
★The BBA Junior Class prom will be held on May 7th at the Sun Bowl Lodge on Stratton Mountain from 8pm until midnight. Tickets are $20 per person and will be on sale starting Monday, April 18th.
★Important message for seniors: If you are applying for scholarships that have a deadline right before, or over break (for instance, the VFW and Manchester Lions Club Scholarships) you must fill out theTranscript Request Form and hand in your required materials to Mrs. Welsh by Wednesday, April 6th.
★The Pursuit Of Wellness 5K Walk/Run, an independent event benefitting The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, will be held on April 16th, 2011 at Riley Rink at Hunter Park in Manchester, VT from 9AM to 1PM. This event seeks to aid the thousands of people who will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the near future by assisting in the lengthy journey towards the discovery of a cure. For registration forms find us on Facebook, email us at thepursuitofwellness@gmail.com or visit Riley Rink. Registration fees are as follows: $25 for ages 15 and up, $15 ages 7-14, and ages 6 and under free.
Pancreatic cancer, an under recognized, leading cause of death amongst Americans, has no cure. An estimated 43,140 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year, and over 36,800 of those diagnosed will die from the disease, making it the 4th leading cause of cancer related death in the United States. Because the symptoms of pancreatic cancer are so vague, by the time the diagnosis is made, it may be too late. Much research still remains to be done to determine earlier detection methods and more successful treatment options.
★On Tuesday, April 5 Linda Mitchell, Health Coordinator at The Dorset School will be speaking at The Collaborative's monthly coalition meeting. Linda's presentation will be from 4:00pm-5:00pm at Manchester Elementary Memorial School (MEMS) in the Jackie Parks room.
Linda is a parent educator and a licensed guidance counselor whose goal is to help students develop physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually by providing opportunities for them to acquire knowledge, skills, and behavior patterns that will enable them to reach their full potential. With April being Alcohol Awareness Month, Linda will be presenting on ways that young people can foster growth, challenge and change that encourage maturation and continued healthy decision-making in order to avoid falling into the pitfalls of alcohol and substance abuse.
For additional information contact The Collaborative at 802-824-4200 or refer to www.thecollaborative.us. The Collaborative promotes the development of a healthy, involved community supporting substance free youth in a caring environment. Get Involved!
