On Sunday, February 28, 2010, during the Dollar Skate at Riley Rink from 1:45- 3:45 pm, Mark Tashjian, BBA headmaster and Gary Grabarz will suit up and be in the net as "celebrity" goalies, for the "Put the Biscuit in the Basket" shots on goal contest, raising money to benefit the Burr and Burton Academy Booster Club and the students at Manchester Elementary-Middle School.  Come check it out and see if you can put a shot past them!

All students planning on taking the April 10th ACT test at BBA must register at actstudent.org by March 5th.
 
All students planning on taking the May SAT test at BBA must register at collegeboard.com by March 25th

Bruce Hammond SAT Prep Workshop, Sunday March 7th
: Interested students must register by March 1st in the School and College Counseling Office. This workshop is geared to help students prepare for the March 13th SAT at BBA. Cost $100 and checks need to be made out to Bruce Hammond Workshops.

Tutorial Center SAT Prep classes: Interested students register and pay for classes directly with the Tutorial Center. Classes are held on six Sundays from March 7 through April 25 with no classes held on April 4 or April 11. Cost $300.

For students in Grades 9, 10 or 11
MEDQUEST 2010 applications are available in the School and College Counseling office and online. Medquest is a great summer program for students interested in exploring health career opportunities. Students spend 6 days on a college campus, job shadow with health care professionals, participate in workshops and more.
MEDQUEST applications are due by March 1.

Governor's Institutes of Vermont 2010 Information and applications are available online at www.giv.org  and in the School and College Counseling Office. Governor's Institutes is a summer program providing the opportunity to study a variety of subjects on Vermont College Campuses. Applications are due to your counselor by March 15.

The tennis club is having the last meeting today please bring $5.00 for a end of the year pizza party.

Seniors, one of the rights that you earn when you turn 18 is the right to vote. Some of you are already 18.  If you are or if you will turn 18 before March 2 you will be able to vote for the first time and that will be in your towns Town Meeting. The only other  requirements are that you are an American citizen and a resident of the town you will be voting in. You may  

have registered when you got your adult drivers license. If you are not registered or even unsure if you are stop by my room (top floor of the Seminary Building) and I can give you the application form. The  deadline for this is this Wednesday Feb 27 at 5:PM. 
Your towns will have many important items on 
their ballots- electing town officials, numerous spending  items, voting on school budgets including that of Burr and Burton. So please-if you can, get registered and vote at your town meeting. Encourage your parents to do the same.

Riley Rink will host an open skate and bake sale on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM. Proceeds will benefit the BBA Booster Club for the BBA Track & Field Team Ice time is sponsored by The Perfect Wife Restaurant and Spiral Press Cafѐ.

Volunteers needed for:  Skate Guards, Bakers, etc.
