Young women and men who participate in these programs are then eligible for  scholarship opportunities from the same organizations. Applications must be submitted by March 30th.

This Saturday, March 21, there will be a bus going to Stratton Mountain, to the US Open Snowboarding Championships. We have about 15 International Students signed up right now, and therefore there are 25 extra spaces on the bus. Please see Erin Gilligan, in the Language Arts Office in the Rowland Center, to sign up. The bus will be leaving at 8:45 a.m. and the return time is TBA. Thank you.

Burr and Burton Hosts Speaker David Ball

Burr and Burton’s Athletic Department has invited professional football player and motivational speaker David Ball to speak to the students on Thursday, March 12, from 7:45-8:45 pm [note new time] in the gymnasium. The community is invited to attend at no charge.

A graduate of Spaulding High School, Ball played football at the University of New Hampshire where he was an All-American wide receiver and broke Jerry Rice's career receiving touchdown record. After several years with the NFL’s Chicago Bears and NY Jets, he is currently with the CFL’s Hamilton Tigercats. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day! A show of paintings and photographs with Irish Inspiration by Betsy Byrne Hubner.  Opening reception, Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 from 5-7pm at  the Manchester artist's Guild, Rt 11 and 30

The Performing Arts Department will present a Prisms Concert devoted to the music of film on March 11th & 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the Riley Center.  Tickets are available on line at www.bba.ticketjunior.com or by seeing Neil Freebern.

Hunger pains are a distraction to learning. Every student should start the day off with a full belly. The cafeteria now has free breakfast items available to ALL students! Hard boiled eggs, toast and apples. Please take advantage today!!

Auditions for this years spring musical A CHORUS LINE are Tue, Wed and Thur. March 3,4,5, at 6:30pm.  For more information and an audition packet go to the dance studio located in the performing arts building and see Mr Raposa.

 MedQuest offers students currently enrolled in Grades 9.10 and 11 a six-day exposure to the range of health career opportunities available and an introduction to life on a college campus. They are looking for students interested in health professions, mathematics, science and technology.

 The Governor's Institutes of Vermont are week or two-week long programs in Arts, Asian Cultures, Engineering, Current Issues & Youth Activism, Information Technology, Mathematical Sciences, Science & Technology.  Applications are due to the School & College Counseling Office by 3/15.

REMINDERS: Community Service hours and Service Learning projects must be up to date. Sophomores need 2 Service Learning projects completed and juniors need 4 Service Learning projects completed. Seniors need to have completed their 50 hours of community service. All athletes must have had a physical exam within the last two years; any athlete who had a physical prior to July 2007 you must have a current form on file before the season opens.
