Don't cut your hair until June!
MEMS will be hosting a Locks of Love Day in June. This will be for anyone interested in donating at least 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. For more information, see Mr. Nicholson.
On May 14th from 10:00am-1:00pm there will be a "Journey through Foster Care" community event at the Congregational church in Manchester.
Free admission! Northshire Performing Arts presents "Cinderella" by the New York Theatre Ballet, Wed. May 27th at 5:45pm at the Arkell Pavilion at SVAC. "The NYTB is a discreet little pearl in the oyster of New York dance...acclaimed for its innovative ballets based on children's literature." All ages are welcome! Vermont Intercultural Semesters is a a unique, affordable semester of cultural immersion that takes place in Ladakh, a former Buddhist Kingdom in the Indian Himalaya. A group of ten to twelve high school or 'gap' year students from Vermont, explore with Ladakhi peers in this remote mountain culture, some of the major challenges of the world today. If you are interested in learning more about this program, a representative from Vermont Intercultural Semesters will be at BBA on Tuesday, May 19th during B block (8:00 am) in Mrs. Hubner's classroom. Seniors will have an opportunity to learn more about this program during advisory time on May 19th.
