Join BLAMO & the OVX service learning team Monday & Wednesday for Sticker Shock Campaign! We'll be going into local alcohol retailers and sticking alcohol packaging with stickers saying: 'Stop! Don't give this to anyone under 21! It could cost you $2,000 and 2 years in prison!". Meet in the courtyard after school Monday & Wednesday to arrange carpooling. We'll finish Monday by 6pm. And Wednesday when stickering finishes, we'll all go to Christo's for a pizza party and BLAMO meeting!

 

This week's BLAMO meeting will take place at Christo's after Sticker Shock wraps up (around 6:00pm ish). If you would like to attend this week's BLAMO meeting, please come participate w/ sticker shock so you don't miss the meeting!

Winter Performing Arts Performances

The Performing Arts Department's Winter Concert has been rescheduled to Monday, December 15, at 7:30 pm in the Riley Center for the Arts. The evening’s performance under the direction of Neil and Julie Freebern will showcase movements of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.” Enjoy an evening of choir, orchestra, percussion ensembles, and more. Tickets are $4 and will be available at www.bba.ticketjunior.com.

On Wednesday, December 17, at 6:30 pm the Burr and Burton Drama and Dance program will showcase an evening of theater and dance in the Riley Center for the Arts. Traditional and contemporary works will be featured including the wonderful choreography of the Triple Threat extracurricular program. Donations are appreciated.

Seniors wanting to receive an immediate decision on their application to Castleton can do so right here at Burr and Burton.  Students submit a completed application to their counselor by Dec. 3rd and then interview with a Castleton admission officer on the 9th.  The application fee is waived for this program.  Students should sign up with their School and College Counselor ASAP to take advantage of this program.

Castleton on the Spot interviews will be conducted here at BBA on Tuesday, December 9 from 10 a.m. until 2:30.

Seniors wanting to receive an immediate decision on their application to Castleton can do so right here at Burr and Burton.  Students submit a completed application to their counselor by Dec. 3rd and then interview with a Castleton admission officer on the 9th.  The application fee is waived for this program.  Students should sign up with their School and College Counselor ASAP to take advantage of this program.

The Student Policy Advisory Board will be meeting on Wednesday, December 10th at 7:30am in the Seminary conference room. Mr. Tashjian will be in attendance at the meeting. Please see Mr. Cirelli if you cannot attend.

 

Rock Climbing Club - We will be traveling to Rutland this Thursday, December 4th at 2:45.  Please meet in Mr. Kelly's room.  We will return by 6:30.  If you have any questions or are interested in joining the club, please see Mr. Kelly.

 

Open gym for girls' lacrosse begins this Thursday from 6-7AM. Bring a stick, goggles, and a mouth guard.  See Coach Miceli for more details.

 

This Saturday, Dec. 6th at 9:30PM at Riley Rink, BLAMO & Our Voices Exposed presents another night of Broomball Fever! The theme for this Saturday is Fairy Tails, so come dressed as your favorite animal or favorite fairy tale character. Broomball ends promptly at 11PM, so have your ride waiting! See you there!

 

The Collaborative Event Planner service learning team will have a meeting during advisory this Thursday. Please meet with your advisor in the library.

You will not receive your pass until you attend your 3rd event. If you plan to attend this Make Up event you need to tell your grade level representative that you intend to do so.

 

All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast December 7

The Burr and Burton Academy Girls Basketball program will host an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, December 7, in the Rowland Center on campus between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. The menu will feature homemade pancakes, real Vermont maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The event is sponsored by the BBA Booster Club and all proceeds will go to the girls basketball program. So stop in for breakfast before you go out to shop.

There will be a meeting Wednesday at 2:30, in Ms Silver's room, for students traveling to Costa Rica in April.

 

Today is the LAST day to get in your Refuse to Use paperwork, checks, photos etc. You can either hand it in to your grade rep or do it online. This will be collected at 2:30 tomorrow by the Collaborative and after tomorrow they will accept NO MORE paperwork. If you do not have all your paperwork in by tomorrow you will not get a Stratton pass.
