-All Refuse to Use Students-

If you have missed one of your three scheduled events you will need to attend the Make Up Event that is scheduled for December 9th from 3:30 - 4:30 at Long Trail. You will not receive your pass until you attend your 3rd event. If you plan to attend this Make Up event you need to tell your grade level representative that you intend to do so.

A local non-profit organization is starting an Outing Club for high school students. This club will be able to go on day trips in the surrounding area depending on the choice of each student. Trips could include skiing, rock climbing, going to Boston. Longer, more-intensive trips that challenge the leadership and problem solving ability of participants will be planned also. These trips could be backpacking, rock climbing in New Mexico, scuba diving or sailing in the Florida Keys, skiing in the Rockies or any other number of activities students plan. All planning will be done by students with adult advisors only making suggestions. Be the trip leader, bring in experts who will guide you in route and gear selection and enjoy being with your friends!  Interested? Contact Lani Lovisa in the service learning office.

Burr and Burton Dancers Want Your Old Cell Phones

Burr and Burton Dance team members are sponsoring a cell phone fund-raising drive from November 10 – 25. Not only will you be helping the Dance Team raise money toward their trip, by recycling your used cell phone you are also taking a stand against environmental degradation by keeping the toxic chemicals in cell phones out of landfills. Old cell phones can be donated in the collection boxes at Stewart's, the Northshire Bookstore, and Wireless for Less.

The Burr and Burton Varsity Dance team has been invited to compete in the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida, at the end of January where the team will compete in the Hip Hop and Pom divisions and all funds raised will help defray their travel expenses.

If you would like more information about this event, or if you are interested in making a donation, contact Coach Barb Miceli by phone 549-8190 or e-mail bmiceli@burrburton.org.
