Burr and Burton Academy’s Book Drive for Africa Service Learning Project is collecting children’s books and school supplies to send to children in Africa.
New or gently used children’s books and school supplies may be placed in drop boxes located at Bromley Brook School, Zion Episcopal Church, Natural Food Store, St. Pauls Church, Dorset School, Dorset Congregational Church, A Safe Place, Burr and Burton Library, Northshire Bookstore, First Congregational Church of Manchester, Israel Congregation, American Grill, Flood Brook School, and MEMS.
The Book Drive for Africa project will hold raffle and bake sale fundraisers in November and December to help support shipping costs. Monetary donations are also accepted and checks should be made out to Burr and Burton Academy with “Book Drive for Africa” in the memo. Monetary donations will be used to help purchase books as well as cover shipping costs.
