Freshman Class Elections:

All freshman interested in running for class office should see Mr. Graf on the 3rd floor of the Seminary Building for a petition. Petitions are due back to him by this Friday Sept 19th.  Elections will be held next week for Freshman Class President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer. Please see him with any questions.

 

The Breast Cancer/Bennington Cancer Center Service learning group is now collecting Yoplait yoghurt lids for local fundraising efforts through their Save Lids to Save Lives® program.  Just return the washed lids to the pink boxes located in the cafeteria and library.  For every lid collected, Yoplait will donate 10¢ to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, up to $1.5 million! 

 

Seniors!  There will be an informational meeting for the South Pacific trip for students and parents in Mrs. Fast's room on Wednesday September 24th at 6:30.  There are also 5 more spots to be filled.  See Mrs. Fast for information.

 

Burr and Burton’s Creative Arts Magazine is looking for artists, photographers, and writers to submit their work to the Fall issue of Between Ranges.  While you may submit a print copy of your work, we prefer a digital copy.  Please give your submissions or email them to me Campbell Halligan or to any English teacher.

Dance Team – Open gym for practice with turns and jumps will be on Mondays from 3-4 in the gym.  Anyone planning to try out for Dance Team this winter is welcome to come!

 

Senior Parent College Night is tomorrow night, Tuesday, September 16 at 7 pm in the Rowland Center Cafeteria.

 

MAKE-UP SENIOR COLLEGE WORKSHOP

Seniors who missed attending one of the three mandatory college workshops offered in late August need to attend an evening session on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7 pm. in the Rowland Center.   This will be the only make-up session.

 

Seniors: Friday, September 19th is the deadline to sign up for the October 25th ACT Test at BBA. Sign up online at www.actstudent.org

 

Juniors:  Don’t forget to sign up in the School and College Counseling Office for the College Fair at St. Michael’s College in Burlington this Friday, September 19th from 7:15 to 3. Seating is limited to first come/first served. Signed permission form and $5 needed.

 

Having troubles in school, at home, worried about a friend or family member? The health clinic now has drop-in hours if you would like to meet with a counselor. Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11-1 pm you can stop by the health clinic and meet with Rebecca.

 

ATTENTION ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: There will be a short, MANDATORY meeting of all international students on Wednesday, September 17, at 2:30, in the Hunter Seminar room (Library). We will be discussing electing an international student representative to the student council.

 

Student Council Members need to collect payment for the Peace Day Tee Shirts during lunch this week. The cost is $12.00 each.  Thank you!!!

 

The following is important college information from the School and College Counseling Office for Juniors and Seniors:

JUNIORS sign up for the COLLEGE FAIR in Burlington on Friday, September 19 from 7:15 to 3:00. Representatives from hundreds of colleges will be at the fair at St. Michael’s College to answer questions and provide information and brochures about their schools. There is LIMITED seating on the buses so it will be first come, first served!!  You need to turn in a signed permission slip and $5 – see your school counselor or Mrs. Welsh if you need the forms.

 

The October 25th ACT will be held at BBA. The DEADLINE for the ACT is Friday, September 19—register online at www.actstudent.org

 

Senior Parent College Night is September 16 at 7 pm. Seniors encourage your parents to attend to find out more about the College Application Process.

 

A college representative from Wells College in New York state will be here to meet with interested students at 10:00 on Friday, September 12, in the guidance office.

 

ALL FIELD STUDY STUDENTS:  Mandatory meeting on Friday September 12th in the Hunter Seminar Room.  Report there the block you have Field Study.  (C block students go to 3rd lunch)
