Graduation Speaker Announced

John McCardell, former president of Middlebury College and well-respected
historian, will give the keynote address to the Class of 2006 at
commencement ceremonies on Friday, June 9.


Dr. McCardell stepped down as president in June 2004 after leading
Middlebury College for thirteen years. During his tenure, Middlebury
attained national and international prominence as a leading liberal arts
college. He also guided the college through two record-breaking capital
campaigns which enabled the college to add many new facilities. In 2000 Dr.
McCardell was named Vermonter of the Year. He returned to Middlebury last
fall as a professor of history.


Commencement ceremonies will take place on Friday, June 9, at 5:30 pm at the
school.
